The test, run by Joshua Bardwell, also considered and compared modules built into a handful of competing goggles; those ranked among the lowest in the blind tests.
Full results are on Josh’s page, but one of the key points that this study drives home is that external modules are almost always a better solution to built-in alternatives. With receiver module technology changing often, Fat Shark’s goal is to provide a solid imaging foundation into which any third-party module can fit. And if the pilot has a preference for a certain brand, frequency, OSD or fruit-color on the module door, it should be easy to quickly change.
